NOT JUST A DERBY

En rout the Uefa Champions League final, the madrid duo came, saw, and trampled on opponents after opponents and negotiated their ways through to the grand finale in Lisbon. They did that in style, overcome top European heavyweights like AC milan, Borrusia Dortmund, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and co.

This year final  did not only match to clubs from thesame country like last year, its also  pair two clubs with fierce rivalry between them from same regional clan.

Madrid derby have always been hostile and interesting, but in recent time, pride has taken the centre stage which makes any encounter even more fierce and hostile.

As it stands, Real has a great head-to-head record against their neighbours, According to WorldFootball.net , the overall record of the Madrid derby currently stands with Real having won 91 of the teams' 166 meetings. With 41 victories, Atletico have less than half that amount.

One thing sure, that who ever comes out as champ on saturday truely deserved to be. As a football fan, this is going to be savoured for a long time to come.
